Our founder, Brendan J. McCarthy, has over 40 years of experience in the industry, and most of that experience is in Ohio, West Virginia, And Pennsylvania, throughout the Utica and Marcellus Shales.

Brendan J. McCarthy
Born and bred in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, began his career in the Oil & Gas industry in the spring of 1978. He was hired as an Apprentice Landman at Meany & Johnson Land Co. in Denver, Colorado. Brendan’s first area of work was in the Williston Basin, North Dakota, as a Field Landman to Amoco Production Company.
During the three years following, Brendan worked throughout western states, gaining experience in Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, Nebraska, South Dakota, Utah, Kansas, Illinois, and Michigan.
In 1981 an opportunity arose in Northwestern Pennsylvania. From then until 1991 Brendan worked throughout Northwestern Pennsylvania and Western New York for Cabot Oil & Gas.
In 1991, Brendan, along with partner and great friend Joe Bojalad, formed TriEnergy, Inc. They developed TriEnergy into one of the most successful Oil & Gas land acquisition companies in the Appalachian Basin.
Now, as owner of Cornell Holdings, Inc. Brendan is embarking on new opportunities in the mineral business, combining his experience with his comprehensive knowledge of the Appalachian Basin and relationships in the industry.
